Microsoft Dynamics GP October 2024- Default Vendor Class Roll Down

Are you ready to explore some new features in version 18.7?

Sometimes, it's the little things that make a big difference, and this feature is a perfect example.

This change was simple but highly requested by many of our existing Dynamics GP users. Previously, when changing a Vendor Class ID, a message box would appear asking, "Do you want to update the vendor with the information from class?" If a user accidentally confirmed this, it could have serious consequences for your vendor records.

With the release of 18.7, this message will now default to 'NO'.

Have you ever wished for an "undo" button while working in Dynamics GP? This feature is just like that!

This update is particularly useful for end users because it helps prevent accidental changes to vendor records, which can save time and avoid potential errors. By defaulting the message to 'NO', it adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that users don't unintentionally update vendor information. This small but significant change enhances the overall user experience and provides peace of mind while working in Dynamics GP.

***NOTE***
This feature does seem to cause issues with Integration Manager when you roll down class settings for a vendor.
Couple of different options you could use instead:
Change the class roll down from within GP (be careful)
There is eConnect adapters for IM for vendors, so if you put in a pre proc that flipped the @I_vUseVendorClass = 1
Then eConnect should use the parameters from the class to fill in anything you are not mapping.

@I_vUseVendorClass tinyint = 0/* <Optional> Flag to have class setting roll down to parameters that are not passed in. Uses the @I_vVNDCLSID class  */

Enjoy this highly requested GP feature.
